National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Eye Health Conference - Nipaluna, Hobart - May 2024

We are delighted to announce this year we have some beautiful artwork by Palawa woman, Emma Robertson to use as part of the #NATSIEHC24 branding. Emma is well known to our sector having attended and presented at previous national conferences and with a long standing involvement in improving eye care in her community. The artwork from Emma’s Salt Water collection, ‘Low Tide’ will be used in our communications and Conference collateral.
Emma is a proud Palawa woman from the trawlwoolway people in the north eastern part of Lutruwita, Tasmania. She is an Aboriginal Health Practitioner and works full time as a Health Manager for her local Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service.
“I express myself creatively and love to combine cultural practice with contemporary methods. I am an artist and cultural practitioner who enjoys exploring new ideas and pushing the limits of my imagination. I love to work with natural materials such as kelp, fibres and shells and utilise them in contemporary designs. I continue to expand my skills and explore other mediums such as photography and digital graphic design”.
